Thoughts in tune: October 11th, 2009

I'm seeking a beginning to take hold of
Forgetting what I've given up
So many choices, one must be right
I'd rather give in than fight

Is this the way it has to be?
Set in stone?  I disagree...
The things I want are beyond my reach
Have I learned all that you've had to teach?

My greatest strength lies in yours
You've opened up so many doors
I've found myself able to become
More than a person, a brother, a son

My vision skewed, my heart has changed
My mind once broken finds new range
What's ahead I wouldn't guess
I just believe beyond all tests

I don't want love, I just want peace
A capableness, a simple release
My fear of loneliness has come to pass
I've found better things that seem to last

Contentment can be easily achieved
Ability over failure, mind over greed
Happiness comes at barely a cost
Optimism is rarely ever lost

So I'll hold on, as I remember
The times we've always had together
And I'm sure the future holds
More in store, so far untold
