if i was to sum up the things i learned from my mom in one word it would have to be this: empathy.
putting myself in another's shoes. trying to feel how another would feel. it made me a better person. taught me how not to hurt a person. to treat others the way i wanted to be treated.
she goes out on a limb for me... she does things out of the kindness of her heart constantly. she'll put herself out there simply out of love and never wants anything in return. it's remarkable.
she instills values i want to teach my daughter. i know lily will be her own person... strong, secure, intelligent, talented, empathetic, funny, and a million other things i'll see as she grows up. and i can't wait to see the woman she'll grow into. i used to be scared... my job takes me away from her a lot... missing precious time i know i'll never get back. but i'm working for her. to give her a life. to make sure she grows up happy and secure. no problems i go through will change that. no problems i go through will make me forget how much i love my daughter.
strength of character. forgiveness. caring.
that's my mom.
